Please excuse our dust.

It's been a long time overdue. I'm pushing somethings together, trying to keep it simple. Hopefully you guys will enjoy our new look!

Later until then.

A sucker for a love song.

& I am extremely guilty for being one, but artist like Musiq Soulchild make it so easy. Though this isn't the actual song from him, but a demo, you get the just of where it's going. I look forward to hearing the final track in the near future.

Take a listen & download No Ordinary Love.

Reggie Watts

So since my better half has taken a break from the blog world, I will be picking up where he left off. So check out Reggie Watts. I think it's really cool when somebody can make a unique, beautiful musical product that really connects with the audience. It's even more amazing when they can make that product on the fly, by themselves, in five minutes, and you can rock to it while it's being made. But that's just another day in the lab for Reggie Watts. Check Out his song "Out of Control" being made right here.

Oh yeah, he can scat too.

You can also check his personal website for more of his stuff here.

Janelle Monae- "Come Alive- The War of The Roses"

A new single by Janelle Monae who is always known for her innovation.  This track definitely is different from anything else I've heard her in.  Takes a turn into rock as opposed to her smoother stuff that we're used to.
I still like it.

In the words of Kia Soul Collective...

"We’re pretty sure Janelle MonĂ¡e is from the future or from a super cool planet that the rest of us are not up on yet. You know – some spot just over in the next galaxy where the music rules and where everyone rocks their own version of the Kia Soul. Janelle has created the sound of how she rolls for us and she calls it “Come Alive (The War Of The Roses).” Take a listen to “Come Alive (The War Of The Roses)” below, download the track and watch the behind scenes video we filmed during the recording process…."

Matthew Santos Album Teaser

You may just know him as the guy who sings choruses in Lupe Fiasco's songs such as "Superstar." But he is a solo artist himself, and his new album entitled "This Burning Ship of Fools, sounds like it's gonna be a one to hear based off of the teaser he released, which you can download here.

Wale- The Meeting

This has been out for a while, but still merits your attention if you haven't heard it. It's described by The Elitaste in the paragraph below:

"So in the spring of 2007, I suggested to Wale that he create an audio manifesto of what he wanted to

accomplish as an artist once he signed. DC producer Osinachi, the maestro behind “Nike Boots” who is now

part of Rodney Jerkins’ team, blessed Wale with the beat for “The Meeting” and Wale, how do you say,

“went in.” This became the first track we played in label meetings and for a time, it was discussed that this

would be the intro for Attention Deficit. In retrospect, I think Wale stayed true to the goals set forth in “The

Meeting” and you can still hear the hunger in his voice. So 2.5 years later, this track is emancipated. And make sure you cop Attention Deficit if you haven’t done so already."
